When a therapist and patient connect their apps, they can start sharing data securely. All data sent to and from Psychelinx servers is encrypted to protect privacy.

Beyond this, Psychelinx ensures that only the therapist knows the details of the patient submitting their information. Not even Psychelinx will know.

  • HASHING

Instead of storing your personal data as-is, Psychelinx transforms the data so that the original value cannot be reconstructed from it. This is done using advanced cryptographic algorithms and it's called "hashing".

  • ENCRYPTION IN TRANSIT

All data is securely transmitted to and from our servers using advanced cryptography (end-to-end cryptography). This means even if the transmission were intercepted no hacker could read your data.

  • ENCRYPTION AT REST

All data is encrypted and securely stored once it reaches our servers. This protects your data from any physical security breach.

How it works

When the patient confirms sharing their name with the clinician, it is securely processed through our Psychelinx server.

  • The patient's name is hashed before being stored or transmitted, ensuring it cannot be read, reversed, or identified.
  • The server only handles this hashed data, represented as a random string like 8*#fΔJ?, instead of the original name.
  • This guarantees that sensitive information remains private, secure, and protected throughout the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who can access patient data stored in the app?

Only the patient and, if the patient chooses to pair, their clinician can access the patient’s data.

Psychelinx does not allow access by other clinicians, other patients, or unauthorised third parties. Access is strictly limited to the minimum required for the app to function as intended.

Can Psychelinx staff access patient personal data?

Psychelinx is designed to separate clinical data from patient identity. Questionnaire entries are stored in a way that prevents the platform from knowing who a specific patient is. Only the paired clinician can associate data with an identifiable patient. Any internal access by authorised staff is limited, audited, and performed on pseudonymised data only, strictly for system operation and legal obligations.

Is patient data shared with third parties or used for secondary purposes?

No patient data is sold or shared for marketing, advertising, or profiling purposes.

Some data may be processed by carefully selected technical service providers (such as hosting or notification services) strictly on Psychelinx’s behalf, under GDPR-compliant data processing agreements and only to provide the service.

You can find our full App Privacy Policy here.

Where is patient data stored, and does it comply with GDPR requirements?

Patient data is stored and processed in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Psychelinx applies appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure lawful processing, data minimisation, and protection of users’ rights, in line with EU data protection requirements.

You can find our full App Privacy Policy here.

What happens to patient data if a clinician–patient pairing ends?

Patients and clinicians can unpair at any time, immediately ending shared access to the data, including historical data.

What happens to patient data if a patient account is deleted?

If a patient account is deleted, patient data is handled in accordance with GDPR, including deletion or anonymisation where applicable, subject to legal and regulatory obligations.

You can find our full App Privacy Policy here.

What happens if Psychelinx servers are compromised?

Even in the unlikely event of a security breach, any data stored on Psychelinx servers is protected by encryption and technical safeguards. The data is structured so that it cannot be directly linked to identifiable individuals, making it impossible to associate records with a specific patient.

Psychelinx applies security-by-design principles to minimise the impact of any unauthorised access and to protect user privacy.
